Think about some fine African
writers who have done well to pen books in their Mother Tongue (African
languages): the great Ngugi wa Thiong’o (Kenya) in Kikuyi, K.P. D Maphalla
(South Africa) in Sesotho, Okot p’bitek (Uganda) in Acholi.
And do not discount Akinbami Oluwagbemiga (Nigeria) who has
written and published a series of didactic, entertaining and educational books
in the Yoruba language. Titles from him include the following:
